It has an interesting pattern of red and white stripes on its body. The Dancing is taken from the swaying and tapping when the shrimp moves. The Dancing Camel Shrimp has a notably large and moveable rostrum (nose) that is usually pointed upwards. It prefers to assemble with other Camel Shrimp. Like all other invertebrates it will need hiding places during molting. The Dancing Camel Shrimp tolerated other shrimp but may nip at soft corals while gathering food.

The Camel Shrimp will accept most marine foods such as brine shrimp, pellet and flaked food.
