The Kitten Cowrie has an egg-shaped, spotted, glossy shell and is in high demand for the reef aquarium. Their colors differ depending upon geographical location. They can reach up to 2 inches and will require an aquarium of at least 30 gallons. Kitten Cowrie prefers a rock aquarium with plenty of hiding places. While somewhat small, it will eat some algae and scavenge for scraps. Adults may eat some anemones, sponges, and soft corals. They are best housed with starfish, sea urchins, and tubeworms in the reef aquarium. Do not house it with any condylactus. It needs low nitrate levels and will not tolerate copper-based medications.
