The anthias does best when kept in a group and housed in a species-specific aquarium of at least 125 gallons in size. Like all anthias have the ability to switch sexes. If the alpha male dies, the largest female will morph and take the place of the male, completely changing sex in the process. Their diet consists of mysis, brines, and other meaty foods. They may take high quality flake and pellet foods.
