The Candy Cane Squirrelfish is also known as the Hawaiian Squirrelfish. They are bright vibrant red with horizontal striping down the body and can reach up to 8 inches. They benefit from an aquarium of at least 70 gallons with plenty of rock to hide in as well as plenty of room to swim. Candy Cane Squirrelfish can be kept with others of their own kind if the aquarium of at least 200 gallons. The Candy Cane Squirrelfish is not considered reef safe as they will eat worms, serpent stars, and crustaceans. Their diet consists of mostly meaty foods as well as high quality flake and pellet food.
