Peacock Mantis Shrimp

The Peacock Mantis is a large stomatopod, a crustacean. They are very aggressive and are not reef safe. They should be kept in an aquarium by themselves.  They have a very powerful punch so watch your hands if you need to go into the aquarium for any reason. There are reports of Mantis shrimp rarely breaking glass aquariums with their violent strike, so some people recommend acrylic or other non-breakable aquariums. Their diet consists of snails, crabs, shrimp, small fish.
