Discosomas or "Discos" are the most common variety of mushroom corals in the hobby. Discos are very easy to grow in the reef tank; they can easily adapt to most healthy water parameters and can be placed almost anywhere within the aquarium. Discos can tolerate many different levels of flow and lighting, but generally prefer less of both. Many Discos will exhibit more flashy colors under stronger lighting, but it's not necessary for survival. These mushroom corals may multiple and can sometimes move about the tank by detaching from their foot. These are some of the easiest and beautiful corals to grow and would be a fantastic addition for a beginner or really anyone looking for good color with minimal care.
